Georges Ferro La Gree simultaneously studied engineering and music until
one day, like a flash of light, he discovered Van Gogh, and painting. He took up serious
art studies, in particular the art nouveau style, which he studied with passion. He gave
up his job and devoted all his time to painting. An Artist was born. From then on he gave
full rein to a deep felt artistic creativity which had remained dormant for too long.
The numerous exhibitions world wide of his work are witness to the fame of this
post-impressionist artist - New -York, San Francisco, Chicago, Los Angeles, Boston, Tokyo,
Geneva, Lausanne etc.
Following his engineering training, he has kept the skill of finely drawn, well balanced,
structures.
His palette is brightly coloured, suggesting the "Fauves" style, and giving his
works an incomparable impact and strength. The broad brush strokes - but precise all the
same - allow the artist to express the sentiments attached to nature across a wide range
of subjects - the harvest, the seaside, the countryside, the ports of the Vendée etc.
Standing in front of his pictures, we can understand the sentiments expressed in the
phrase spoken by Cézanne : "It's a damn good picture".
