Monique BARONI
(born in 1930)

Her work, by hint and suggestion, conveys the essentials of sparkling light and sunny colours : luminous reds, oranges and blues merging to form mauves. Traditional forms border on the abstract.
The subjects she paints : landscapes, garden siestas, reading under the arbour, colourful markets etc.
She attended courses by Jean-Marc Lange and by Mac-Avoy before she herself began teaching at 17 years old.
Her meeting with Balthus was a "Revelation" to her. She was awarded the "Médaille d'Or des Artistes Français" in 1993. She exhibits in the largest Galleries worldwide in Paris, Tokyo and New-York.
